These mansions were built by wealthy Jain merchants. Because the king did not want anything to look better than his fort, these mansions were built just outside the fort. Intricately carved in the same gold - yellow stone, one of the mansions has been given to the archeological department and the other is occupied by a younger generation of the Jain merchants.
