The Devales, Kandy, Sri Lanka

The Devales are just west of the Tooth Temple. They are buddhist temples but are nominally infused with hindu roots, because many of the Kandy kings were Tamils from South India. One thing that is typical of Buddhist temples in Sri Lanka that you find shrines of Buddha under a Bo Tree (the tree under which Buddha achieved enlightenment). Also common scenes around Sri Lanka are big Buddha statues/shrines on hills, in the center of a square or a corner of a street.
