Palahalli, the birth place of Govinda, Arpana's Father

Less than a mile away from the Cauvery river is the village of Palahalli. This is the village that Govinda, Arpana's father was born in and its still nothing more than two or three streets. Located in this village is a church (pictured above) that the town was named after - St. Paul's was changed to Pal and halli means village -- and it became Palahalli.

This is a classic example of the circle of life that although Govinda traveled all over the world, his life started and ended just a mile apart from each other.

At the entrance of the village is the recently constructed statue of Shiva and his two sons, Ganesha and Kartikaya. Its a good example of folk village art. It is also a good example of how Indian deities are center piece of the smallest village.
